Course overview

The UK Routine Immunisation Programme is subject to continual evaluation and review by the JCVI in response to new and emerging evidence, resulting in regular changes to vaccine policy.  In recent years the schedule has become more complex (Ref. National Minimum Standards).

This workshop is aimed at Registered Practitioners currently involved in the delivery of the UK Routine Immunisation Programme, (whether advising or administering) it covers recommended changes to practice and up to date policies and guidelines.

  • Current issues in immunisation

  • Vaccination of individuals with uncertain or incomplete immunisation status
  • Update on vaccine ordering, storage and administration
  • Legal aspects including record keeping and compliance with the vaccine schedule
  • Q&As for commonly encountered problems in practice

The session is very interactive, fast moving with lots of information and uses problem solving, presentations and group discussion to explore the subject matter.

The course meets the requirements for the National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training recommended by UK Health Security Agency.


You will leave the session more confident to promote and administer vaccines efficiently and safely.
