The COVID-19 vaccination programme

The aim of the vaccination programme is to protect those at highest risk of serious illness or death from COVID-19

Scientists across the world have worked together to develop vaccines which have been rigorously tested for safety and efficacy.

The Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is the first to be licenced in the UK and it is currently being administered to those at highest risk.
